Naseema Nasreen Ali is an author, artist, and poet whose Urdu verse speaks directly to the heart — carrying themes of love, longing, faith, and reflection that resonate far beyond any one language or culture.
Her journey began as an art teacher, and over the decades grew into a lifelong creative path spanning poetry, painting, and calligraphy. Her published collection, Awaz-e-Dil (“Voice of the Heart”), brings together original Urdu poems written across a lifetime of observation and feeling.
Naseema currently resides in London, UK, where she continues to write, paint, and share her work with the world. Her work has touched readers and viewers around the globe — and she hopes it continues to reach further still. Whether you read Urdu fluently or are discovering it for the first time, her poetry is an invitation: to slow down, to feel, and to connect.

A life lived in colour and verse
What began in the classroom — teaching others to see and to draw — became a practice of her own: canvases of sacred names, florals painted freehand, and Urdu poems written and recited from the heart, gathered together in her book Awaz e Dil.

Naseema taught art at Kulsoom Bai Valika school, in the Airport area of Karachi, Pakistan. Remarkably, many of her students from over 60 years ago remain close to her to this day, and much of her online community today is made up of these former students and their families.
